Each year we look for a number of high calibre, enthusiastic graduates who are interested in joining our graduate programme as their first step to a long term career within our organisation.

Upon joining as a Graduate Trainee your initial technical and business training will last around 4 - 6 months. This training will focus on equipping you with a basic technical understanding of our products, an appreciation of the global financial markets, sharpening your technical skills and preparing you for your first role.

A significant proportion of the initial training will be classroom style course based training but there will also be practical hands-on training and work experience within several different technical teams.

Upon completing the initial training programme you will take up a permanent role within the organisation. Roles which our graduates typically move into are:

  • Software Support Analyst
  • Implementation Analyst/Consultant
  • Software Programmer
  • Analyst Programmer
  • Implementation Consultant
  • Business Analyst

Your training and career development will be ongoing and continue on the job with the support of your manager and your team members. Within your first year you can expect to have developed into a capable IT professional and be making a valuable contribution to our organisation. The learning doesn’t however stop here, you will be continually learning as your career develops and as our business evolves.

    Career Development

We do not have rigid career paths which you must follow and your career progression will depend largely on the skills you develop and your interests. Some graduates choose to progress their careers by taking on more responsibility and more senior roles within their chosen team. Others move into roles within other teams.

There may also be opportunities to undertake work in one of our offices overseas either on a short term or long term basis. Many of our team leaders, managers and technical experts joined us as graduates and now enjoy professionally and personally challenging positions where they are contributing to the growing success of our organisation.

    Requirements

We are looking for high calibre candidates so to be considered for our graduate programme you must meet the following criteria.

  • Have graduated or expect to graduate with a good Bachelor’s degree (first or second class depending on business area) in a computing related discipline or in another subject with a significant computing content. We will also consider Graduates with a Maths or Physics degree who are technical enthusiasts.
  • Have a good working knowledge of one or more programming/scripting languages (eg C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, Java, Perl, PHP, Javascript)
  • Unix
  • SQL and relational databases
  • Have an aptitude for solving complex technical problems
  • Be very fluent and confident in spoken and written English
  • Enjoy working as a team
  • Be eager to learn, enthusiastic and have initiative
  • Have excellent communication skills and the desire to provide outstanding service
